I deleted the prior post mainly because I was not in charge of who wrote that. Long story but suffice to say I was shocked when I read it and that person is no longer allowed (not sure how they did it in the first place) on my blog again.
I would appreciate it if you all would pray. I am headed to Las Vegas to visit my grandpa who is dying of cancer. He has had cancer for a few years but very mild until last August when they found it had suddenly moved to his colon, spine, kidneys, and lungs. Since then he has been going to chemo which has kept it in check. Three treaments later and in Feb they did another scan (the prior scan was in Dec of last year) which came out that he wasn't getting worse or better.
Two weeks ago he went in to the ER because of digestive problems and they admitted him because he was "acting funny". They did another scan and found a 3cm tumor on his brain and multiple lesions (sp?). When they gave him 6 weeks and told him he would be hospitalized for most of that, he told them forget it. He went off all medication and opted for home hospice and was told he may have 2 weeks at most if he did that. Well folks this is the second weekend since they said that. He has lost the use of one side, his speech is very messed up, and he is cognitive off and on. Much of my family has already been there. My brother Simon lives there already and Micah is out there now from England. My gpa doesn't know God and denies God's power. I think he thinks there is one out there but it is for wimps and weaklings who are not very smart. He is a certified genius, a nuclear physisist, and brilliant to boot. But with all those brains, he is hard of heart. Please pray that God will soften him.
In other but related news I bought a car with which I will be driving to LV and back and hopefully for a good many years.
Hope is shameless...
...it brazenly appears in the darkest and strangest places
