Buried

Not to complain, but damn. This has been my day.

1. My starter on my car died yesterday and I have been push starting it since. Called my mechanic and it is going to cost almost 200 to fix. But that isn't all. Last Friday I got pulled over because my tags were expired. Apparently about two months ago. Because I have been really strapped this month I let my insurance lapse. Thankfully he didn't fine me, just have to bring proof of registration in. In order to get reg, I need insurance. To get insurance I need to fix my car. I have to figure out how to get across town to pick up a check to do all the above.

2. My roomate called and told me that a fellow bus driver and friend had collapsed in her arms with a massive heart attack and died right there. They administered CPR but to no avail.

3. Watched an hour of CNN on the devastation in New Orleans. I have a good friend there and called his sister, Katie. She tells me that he and his family got out, but they have lost (like almost everyone in NO) everything.

4. Called a friend who has been on my heart for a while. She tells me a horrible childhood secret that God has recently brought to the surface and her dealing with it.

5. My sister tried calling me while I was on the phone with friend from #4 and I called her back when I was done with the previous conversation. My sister tells me that a friend in AZ has ended up in a homeless shelter with her 14mo child. Her car was repossesed and then she couldn't get to work and so on.

6. After all this, my car doesn't seem as important.
